Soon It Will Be...

 

You don't need a reminder, but, it really  - soon it will be Christmas Day.  

This stamp is from the Stampin' Up set called Cup of Cheer and it was perfect for this challenge for Mojo Monday 425. 

 

   

 

 

This sketch was perfect for the coordinating Designer Series Paper that Stampin' Up! has.  The pack used here is called Merry Moments and the traditional Christmas colors are bright and fun.  Don't they make you happy?

 

Here's a closeup of the stamped image.  A gold foil doilie is behind the sentiment and I used one of the Home for Christmas Designer Buttons with Gold Cording looped through and tied in a bow.

 

 

 

Here's a tip for you:  I used markers to ink the sentiment.  Always Artichoke for the boughs and Cherry Cobbler for the words.  Then I used my Real Red marker and added the berry dots.

Bohemian Thinking of You Card

I thought I would take a break from holiday cards and play along with Mojo Monday and participate with sketch 424.  I thought it would be a great way to use some Designer Series Paper (DSP).  You know, those papers we hoard?  I've decided that I need to use them; especially since they are on the FLASH Sale tomorrow!  SCORE!

Last shot is with a peek inside.  I lined the bottom with Washi Tape.  Gotta love that stuff!

Stampin' Up!'s Sleigh Ride Meets Embellished Ornaments

Can't you just hear those Sleigh Bells ringing?  Okay, how about the song?  Can you hear that in your head?  

Here is one of the cards we'll be making on Sunday at my third Christmas Card Stamp a Stack in Leesburg, Virginia.  It was loads of fun to create and I love the color combo.  I used Tip Top Taupe, Lost Lagoon and Shimmery White.  Those along with Silver Glimmer Paper, the sleigh image really pops!

Here's a closeup of the focal point.

To make the sleigh pop even more, I used Dimensionals under the entire panel of Shimmery White.

Can you see all of the Big Shot work that is going on?  I did all of it for my attendees.  They'll be happy, and my arm get's get's one heck of a workout!  LOL

It's a Flower Kind of Day!

Yes, indeed, it's a flower kind of day!  The Cherry Blossoms are blooming here in the DC area, the Red Buds are popping and the Pear Trees are getting ready to!

Today's blog hop is ALLLL about flowers which is one of the images I like to stamp the most!  For my card this evening, I pulled out one of my favorites, Mixed Bunch, along with the coordinating Blossom Punch and had some fun!

 

 

 

I'm not sure if you can see what I did to the flower, but I used my bone folder and curled it in a couple different directions to give it depth.  I also popped it and also the center of the flower to give it more definition.

Here's a side view.  Do you notice the Wisteria Wonder Chevron ribbon peeking from the banner greeting?  It adds just a touch of embellishment.  I also used the Wildflower Meadow embossing folder and inked the embossed part with Whisper White Craft Ink to make it pop.

An Easter Card for You

Has the weather been crazy where you live?  It's sure been a temperature roller coaster here in Northern Virginia!  12 inches of snow one week, then 60 degrees a few days later, and back to freezing today and tomorrow.  I can't wait until Spring!

 

I designed this Easter card for a friend who sends lots of cards.  I looked at it the other day and thought to myself "Self, let's step this baby up!" and that's just what I did! 

 

I used Blessed Easter (#133212) from Stampin' Up and pulled out my Aquapainter and went to town.  There is nothing like playing with watercolors after working all day.  It sure does relax me.  Does it work for you too?  If you haven't tried your hand at watercoloring, and want to try it, I'll be happy to teach you!

 

Here is a side view so you can see some of the detail a bit closer.

 

 

I stamped the image with Stazon Jet Black Ink, let it dry thoroughly, then used ink from the lid of my ink pad (squeeze the pad to get ink on the inside lid) and then started painting.  I also stamped the tulips a couple more times so I could cut them out and pop them up.  After it all dried, I used a very diluted Wisteria Wonder wash to outline the tulip image.  But wait, there was more!  I wasn't quite done until I added the little pearls.  Just couldn't help myself!  tee hee!

I'm teaching this class at both Crops Plus (weekend of Apr. 4-6) and at the It's a Diva Crop (weekend of Apr. 25-27) in April.  You don't have to be a cropper to come to class either.  Crops Plus is sold out, however, It's a Diva still has a few seats left.  Hurry if you want to get in though.  They will probably sell out as well.
