"Wanted" by Stampin Up - 3 Cards

Same set, same colors, three very different cards.

I've got to say, I'm sorry to see this set go.  I don't know why I haven't shared these cards with you before, but am doing so now.  This set is on the Stampin Up Last Chance List and will be gone forever after June 30th.  It's the perfect set for masculine cards, for horse lovers, ranchers, and equestrians everywhere! 

This card has a couple of techniques on it.  I used the rock & roll technique on the medallion.  To do this, I inked it up in Really Rust, then rolled the stamp on the Chocolate Chip pad, giving the image two colors. 

The next technique is the one of motion.  I stamped the horses and then, without reinking the image, tapped it behind the original image.  Cool, eh?

 

For the card to the right, I used the medallion in the background, just because I think it's so pretty and it gave the background interest. 

I tore the Sage Shadow paper and then sponged it with Not Quite Navy.  The frame used the faux leather technique. 

The "Wanted" sign was inked and distressed with Chocolate Chip ink, then I used the Distressing Tool from the Cutter Kit to get the look I wanted.  I used Hemp to hang it.

 

Now, for my favorite card using this set.  This card is a Diorama card and went to one of my bffs, Ms. Marsha Brown.  We went to a rodeo a couple of years back in Cheyene, Wyoming.  She loved this card and I'm sure it reminded her of our time together.

I used the medallion (can you tell that I really like that stamp!?!) to stamp all over the outside and middle layer of the card. 

For the final layer, I used another all time favorite stamp set "Lovely as a Tree".  It's hard to see it in this photo, but trust me, it's there.

Kids Love Stampin Up

I went to visit my folks last weekend and while I was there, I introduced my 5 year old niece Jessica to cardmaking.  Mom, my sister Michele, Jessica and myself gathered around the kitchen table and created quite a few cards.  I started with an easy one and we went from there.  We all had a wonderful time, especially Jessica sho couldn't wait for the next one.  (Note to self, design the cards next time, in advance so I don't keep her waiting.  LOL)

  
 

Michele's hubby Jeff called and she told him what we were doing and he said "Oh no!  Keep Jessica away from the stamps!"  I giggled a wicked evil laugh and Michele took this photo to send to him.

Yep, another little lady in our family loves Stampin' Up!

Why not spend some time with the children in your life and stamp some cards.  It's wonderful bonding time for adults and kids, not to mention a blast!

Elements of Style by Stampin Up

I've got to tell you.  The Elements of Style stamp set in the Stampin Up Summer Mini Catalog is my favorite one this season!  It's so elegant!  There are so many different ideas for this set floating around in my head.  Here is just one of them.  I designed this card for my technique club.  The technique was faux embossing.  The ladies loved it!  What do YOU think?

Stampin Up's Medallion

I've been loving the Medallion stamp by Stampin' Up!  It's so versatile and I love that this elegant image can stand alone.  This is a Make & Take that I did when vendoring this past weekend at the It's a Diva Crop in Germantown, MD.  Everyone seemed to really like it.  What do you think?  Do you want to do this at the Weekend Memories Crop in July?  Let me know!

 
To get the scalloped edges, I used the Big Shot and the Stampin Up Exclusive Scalloped Square die #115950.  Just put the fold inside the scallops to get the straight edge. Simple!

Here's the inside.  To do this, just lay your cardstock on top of the image that you just inked.  You'll get a lighter version of the image.  It makes it easier to see the greeting inside.
