Stampin' Up!'s Riot of Petals

There are so many great stamp sets that are retiring this January and this stamp is no exception.  It's called Riot of Petals and is gorgeous!  I love my background stamps and this one can stand alone.  All I added was the greeting at the bottom and ribbon.  I'll be adding more card samples this week so stay tuned!

Blogger's Challenge #79 - A Stampin Up Celebration Card

This week, our challenge was to create a card with a celebration theme.  Here's mine.  Living outside of Washington DC, red, white and blue (okay, so I threw in a bit of yellow) never goes out of style.

A Great Day in PA Stamping, Shopping, and Hanging Out.

One of the best things about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is the friendships we make and stamping with those friends.  Yesterday was a wonderful day.  I, along with some of my teammates (and girl friends), went to Jan's house for her team's shoebox swap.  Thanks Jan!

We learned how to play Bunco (GREAT fun that I'll be sharing with those of you who sign up for the Bunco party I'll be having in the next couple of months), stamped, ate, stamped, shopped, ate some more and then traveled home.  Okay! so we were gone for the entire day and had to get some holiday shopping done while up in PA!

What's a shoebox swap you ask?  It's so much FUN!  What you do is this:

1.  Design your card using all Stampin' Up! current products.  Make 2 of them.  One for your shoebox, the other for Stampin' Up!

2.  Next, cut all of the cardstock to make that card and put it in a shoebox (or container that will hold everything).

3.  Put all of your supplies, including your Stampin Up stamp set(s), Ink pads and accessories into the box - hence the name "shoebox"

4.  Go to the swap.

5.  Once there, you make one of each card that everyone brings.

Blogger's Challenge #78 - Non Traditional Holiday Colors

After being absent from the challenges for a couple of weeks, I'm back.  This week, the challenge was to use non traditional colors for a Christmas Card.  I chose one of my favorite Stampin' Up! sets "Winter Post"  The main image can be used for any winter themed card and is very vintage.  Actually, the entire stamp set is gorgeous! 

I decided to use shades of purple and pink for my colors.

I wish my scanner would have picked up the true color of the ribbon.  It's Pretty in Pink but looks white here.

Stamp Set:  Winter Post (#111780, $26.95, pg. 10-11 of the Holiday Mini), Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Lavendar Lace, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White

Inks:  Elegant Eggplant, Black Stazon

Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Write Markers, Rhinestone Brads, Designer Tag Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Pretty in Pink 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, 2 Way Glue Pen.

And the skaters up close.  I used my 2 way Glue Pen to put some glitter on the snow and on the ice.

Stampin' Up!'s Snow Swirled Meets Iridescent Ice

Here is another card that folds flat, but when released from it's envelope, it forms into a shadow box.  The wonderful images are from the "Snow Swirled" stamp set by Stampin' Up! 

To make the card, I took 2 pieces of cardstock that were 5.5"x6.25".  I scored each of the sides of cardstock at .5" and 1" on each side and adhered them together using Sticky Strip after putting the focal point in the center of the back of the card.  The focal point of this card is the tree.  After stamping the image, I stamped Versamark all over the image, them embossed with Stampin' Up!'s Iridescent Ice.  It's so sparkly and pretty.  Too bad the photos don't show the true beauty of this card.
