Stampin Up Product Shares and Clubs are Coming!

The new, fresh, fun filled, inspirational Stampin' Up! 2013-2014 catalog debuts May 31st and with a new catalog, come my product shares!  I'm going to have several this year for you to choose from.  Choose one, two or as many as you want.  I'll have photos up as soon as I can, however, I can't post anything until the catalog goes live. 

 

Here are the shares I'll be offering:

Then for the clubs:

• In-Color 2013-2015

 

What's the difference between the two?  Product Shares are a one time purchase.  The Clubs are over several months and they add up to give participants hostess benefits!  More on all of these the first week of June.  I'm taking preregistrations now, so if you're interested, let me know and I'll add you to the list.

Best of Butterflies by Stampin' Up

It's that time again for another blog hop.  This time it's for The Best of Butterflies.  This set has some really nice butterfly images and for this one, I chose the wide short one that was from Strength and Hope a while back.

 

 

I've always loved black and white together with a pop of red.  So, that's what I did.  I stepped up the butterfly image by stamping it with Black Stazon, then colored it with my Stampin' Write Markers.  Then I stamped the entire image with Versamark and clear embossed the entire image.

 

 

Are you wondering where I got the words from?  I combined Word Play, Loving Thoughts and Petite Pairs together.  And yes, I used my beloved Stamp-A-Ma-Jig (a Stamper's best friend!)

By the Tide Blog Hop

Greetings!  It's blog hop time!  I had to take a couple months off due to my brain surgery (yes, I still have one!), and I'm well on my way back to normal and getting my stamping mojo back.  I'm SO excited to stamp again!  What better way to jump back in but with a blog hop!  Woot woot!  Life is GOOD and I am so very blessed!

This month's featured stamp set is "By the Tide" by Stampin' Up! and is one of my favorites from the spring mini catalog.  As you'll see, it's perfect for all kinds of themes.  Theme examples are summer, masculine, beach, menu planning - lobster, yum and fun!

For the cards I created, I stepped them up a bit.  I love to watercolor and figured with the fish, I could really get some interesting colors on them.  So, that's just what I did. I stamped several of the fish images with Jet Black Stazon ink onto watercolor paper, then used my Aquapainter to lift ink from my stamp pads.  Then I cut out the images and shaped them a bit to make them more three dimensional.

 

Card 1 - "Right Direction"

 

Here are a couple of closeups of the focal fish.  In this first photo, you can see how I bent the watercolor paper to create a rounded fish.  Watercolor paper is made of cotton, so it stays wet a little longer, allowing for it to be molded.

 

 

This photo shows the colors of the fish best.  Notice how the colors bleed into each other.  Another reason to use watercolor paper.  Love this technique!

Card #2 - "Fish Big"

 

The second card I want to share with you features the fish again which were watercolored at the same time as the fish above was.  I cut them out and shaped the watercolor paper as before.  Once they were dry, I wanted them to look a bit shinier so I used my self created shimmer mist spray. It's super easy to create by mixing 2 ounces of rubbing alcohol with 1/2 teaspoon of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  The photo doesn't show all of the shimmer, but trust me, it's there. 

 

 

For the Fish Big image, I used the hand image and put tape over the "wish", inked it up with my Stazon, removed the tape and stamped it onto my watercolor paper.  Then I used letters from my Designer Typeset Photopolymer stamp set for the word "Fish".

Curly Cute Thinking of You Card

I'm going to be posting some of the cards I have that feature some of the retiring Stampin Up stamp sets that I'll miss in a big way.  Today's post features the set Curly Cute #117014 (wood mount) or #120510 clear mount.

I Made a Giraffe with the Blossom Punch by Stampin Up

I created this name frame for a customer of mine who gave it as a gift to a new Mom.  She wanted giraffes and when I looked for examples of punch art, I wasn't happy with anything I founds, so I came up with my own.  I found a photo of a couple of giraffes and this is what I came up with.

I have a thing for punch art and used several of Stampin' Up! punches.  The main one that I used was the Blossom Petals Punch.  I'm so sorry that Stampin Up is retiring it.  There are so many possibilities with it!

Baby Hummingbird Rescued

I don't usually share these things on my blog, usually just my personal fb page, but this was so special, I just have to share it with you.  

The young man in the video rescued the baby hummingbird after it was attacked.  The little baby is so beautiful.  I'm a huge hummingbird fan and love this!  How about you?

Speaking of hummingbirds, I'm really going to miss the retiring Stampin Up stamp set called Elements of Style.  It's a beautiful one and features a hummingbird.

Happy Birthday Card Using Zoo Review by Stampin' Up!

 

 

Hi there!  This is a card I made for one of my co-workers for her birthday.  She loves giraffes and I couldn't resist using this image just for her.  It's from the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Zoo Review. 

 

We also made this card in my Technique Club (New Clubs are forming NOW!) and the ladies loved it.  The technique that was the focus was the textured background.  It was fun to do and pretty easy.  All you have to do it take a piece of wax paper, crumple it up, then iron it onto a piece of cardstock.  Then you go over it with an inked up sponge. The wax that is on the cardstock resists the ink, thus giving you the texture.  Cool, eh?

 

To color in the giraffe, we used the Stampin Write Markers.  Please note - a lot of this card used More Mustard card stock, ink and marker.  Please note that this is one of the retiring colors, so if you want it or need to restock, now is the time to do it before it's all gone.  This is an awesome color and there isn't a color close to it that will be replacing it.  Please note, the card stock is already gone.
